Individualized Education Program (IEP)
The IEP Team comprises parents and/or guardians, a school administrator, a special education teacher, a general education teacher, and other special education staff members as determined by the team. An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a written document that outlines instructional goals and/or benchmarks tailored to the student's educational needs as identified by the IEP team. During the meeting, the parent or guardian will be requested to provide written approval for the IEP. Any changes in the student's educational placement or program necessitate the parent or guardian's signed permission. It's important to note that parents or guardians have the right to revoke their consent for special education services at any time. If a parent chooses to do so, the school district must promptly honor this request, and the student will transition to full-time general education, consequently forfeiting the rights and services associated with special education.

iep review
The IEP team conducts an annual review of a student's program to formulate a new Individualized Education Program (IEP), assess progress in achieving previously set goals, and identify new objectives, services, and support as deemed necessary. Additionally, an Eligibility Review takes place every three years, during which assessments are carried out to ascertain special education eligibility.
It's essential to note that a parent or the school's IEP team can request an IEP team meeting at any point during the school year to address concerns related to a student's IEP. These concerns may encompass the mastery of established goals or the need for additional support. This flexibility ensures that a student's educational program remains responsive and adaptable to their evolving needs.
